THRYV CARE / WEIGHT & METABOLIC HEALTH
Metformin XR
oral tablet
Type 2 diabetes care with extended-release metformin.
Medical uses & longevity
Medical indications
Metformin XR is an extended-release medicine for type 2 diabetes. It releases medication over a longer period while helping reduce glucose production in the liver and improve the body's response to insulin. A clinician chooses the formulation based on your prescription, health history and treatment needs.
Healthy aging & longevity
Metformin is being studied for possible effects on aging, partly because of findings in animals. These results do not prove longer life in healthy adults. Extended release changes how the medicine is delivered; it does not establish a longevity advantage. Use solely for aging is off-label and remains unproven.
Important considerations
Nausea, diarrhea and low vitamin B12 are possible. Rare but serious lactic acidosis requires particular attention to kidney function and other health risks. Your clinician reviews medical conditions, alcohol use and other medicines, and considers ongoing blood sugar, kidney and vitamin monitoring.

What happens when I get started?
Sign in or create your account, complete your health intake and consent, then review the total and pay. Once payment is confirmed, your request is submitted for clinical review.
Does payment mean I'm approved?
No. A licensed clinician must review your request and decide whether treatment is appropriate before prescribing. Payment alone does not approve treatment or send an order to the pharmacy.
