THRYV CARE / WEIGHT & METABOLIC HEALTH
Metformin IR
oral tablet
Type 2 diabetes care with immediate-release metformin.
Medical uses & longevity
Medical indications
Metformin IR is a prescription medicine for type 2 diabetes. It helps lower blood sugar by reducing glucose made by the liver and improving the body's response to insulin. The immediate-release form is used alongside nutrition, activity and other parts of a diabetes care plan.
Healthy aging & longevity
Metformin attracts interest because studies in animals have examined effects on aging and lifespan. Those findings do not establish that it extends life in healthy people. Its established role is blood sugar treatment; use solely to slow aging is off-label, with benefits in humans still unproven.
Important considerations
Stomach upset and diarrhea can occur, and vitamin B12 may fall over time. Rare lactic acidosis is serious, with risk affected by kidney function and other health factors. A clinician reviews kidney health, alcohol use, other medicines and monitoring needs before deciding whether treatment is suitable.

What happens when I get started?
Sign in or create your account, complete your health intake and consent, then review the total and pay. Once payment is confirmed, your request is submitted for clinical review.
Does payment mean I'm approved?
No. A licensed clinician must review your request and decide whether treatment is appropriate before prescribing. Payment alone does not approve treatment or send an order to the pharmacy.
