Cedar combines finasteride, minoxidil and biotin in a compounded oral tablet considered for hair thinning. Finasteride reduces DHT, a hormone involved in pattern hair loss. Oral minoxidil is used off label for hair loss; approval of a topical product does not approve this tablet. The combination itself is not FDA-approved.
Healthy aging & longevity
Treating hair loss may address an appearance concern, but it is not a treatment for biological aging or a proven way to extend life. Biotin is important for normal function; taking extra does not establish a hair benefit in someone without deficiency. The cause of thinning matters more than an anti-aging label.
Important considerations
Finasteride can harm a developing fetus; people who are or may be pregnant must not use it or handle crushed tablets. Oral minoxidil can cause fluid retention and serious heart complications. Your clinician reviews blood pressure, heart history, medicines and sexual side effects. Tell your care team about biotin before laboratory tests and report new symptoms.
